The Six Nations Rugby Championship is without doubt the greatest rugby tournament on earth followed quickly by the greatest drinking festival in Edinburgh after each game. Each year the collective fans of each team share in the passion and excitement of this feast of rugby whether watching the game at Murrayfield Stadium or watching in one of the many outdoor bar venues like The Three Sisters.
No sooner have we said good-bye to our 6 Nations rugby 2013 fans at Murrayfield than we get the 2014 6 Nations Rugby Championship fixtures released ! In 2014 we have Scotland v England at Murrayfield on the 8th February and then Scotland v France on 8th of March.
It’s a shame that we only have 2 home matches this yet but it’s our turn to only have 2 home games at Murrayfield than the 3 we have been used to over the last few years. I’m sure our VieAmhor Edinburgh Apartments will still be full of 6 Nations rugby fun for both weekends!
I am particularly excited to host the French again as the Scotland v France was the first 6 Nations Rugby match at Murrayfield that I have ever attended! It was 2011 and my first match. We wee so lucky to have amazing seats in the Murrayfield stadium. We had 12 French guys in the row in front of us which balanced up the 12 in our scottish party. To be honest they looked a little strange and not at all French in their Jamaican coloured shell suits and black Afro wigs!! I hope we have them back this year and they stay with us in our Edinburgh Group Apartment sleeping 10. What we did like was the fact that they were indeed a small and slightly mad French brass band who had smuggled their instruments into Murrayfield stadium!! Every time France took possession the band would all stand up, bring out their instruments and give us a song!!
We are however sad this year that we are not hosting the Irish for the weekend. Here at VieAmhor Edinburgh Apartments we have a constant stream of Irish visitors who take advantage of the cheap and frequent Ryan-air flights on offer. By all accounts the Southern Irish find it far cheaper to come here for a weekend away of shopping and boozing than going into their own fair city of Dublin.
Nonetheless Victoria has been busy all week this week with our Irish cousins checking in guests staying in our St Giles 2 bedroom Edinburgh Apartment, Victoria Terrace 1 bedroom Edinburgh Apartment, Grassmarket 2 bedroom
We hope to welcome lots of 6 Nations Rubgy fans to stay in our VieAmhor Edinburgh Apartments in 2014 as we did in 2013! And of course we welcome all our VieAmhor Edinburgh Apartment Guests with open arms but there is only one country we are supporting in the VieAmhor HQ and that’s our very own Bonny Scotland!
