It’s hard to resist the allure of Edinburgh’s nightlife. And why would you? In friendly pubs and trendy nightclubs, Edinburgh continues to work its magic well into the wee hours of morning.
Old Town Pubs
Old Town Clubs
Whilst most nightclubs reside over in New Town, there are a few late licence hangouts worth exploring in Old Town too.
Hidden beneath George IV Bridge, Dropkick Murphys is always reliable for live music and pleasantly boisterous crowds. Along Victoria Street, the Liquid Rooms host a range of themed clubs nights, or try Espionage for a dizzying multi-story clubbing experience.
On Market Street, just as Old Town meets New Town, nightclub Electric Circus caters to hen party groups.
New Town Pubs
Just down from George Street, the Bon Vivant on Thistle Street is perfect for smaller groups looking for an alternative to the rowdy night out. The Queen’s Arms on Frederick Street and The Dome on George Street are also nice starting points for a classy hen night.
For more boisterous hen party groups, however, it’s best to stick to Old Town.
New Town Clubs
Home to the city’s best nightclubs, George Street is the place to be after the clock strikes 1am. Popular clubs Lulu, Opal Lounge and Shanghai never struggle to get people on the dancefloor with the latest pop tunes and plenty of delicious drinks deals. Just down from George Street, tiki-bar themed Lola Lo is the ideal venue for a girly night out.
