>The Royal Highland Show is one of the most anticipated annual shows in Edinburgh and its now just weeks away!
Hosted at Ingleston Royal Highland Centre, the Royal Highland Show 4 day event, welcomes an average of 170,000 visitors every year from all corners of the globe. This year the event runs from 20th to the 23rd of June bringing the best of food, fun, countryside and farming to Edinburgh once again!
There is so much to see and do its difficult to know where to start so we have put a little guide below to help out our VieAmhor Edinburgh Apartment Guests as well as us Edinburgh Folk who love to join in and show off our fantastic country.
We want you to enjoy The Royal Highland Show experience from start to finish. So let’s start by getting you there!
Tickets are still currently available but are selling very quickly and it’s always advisable to purchase these in advance so that you are not left high and dry in your Welly boots! You can purchase you tickets online here.
Click here to be directed to the timetable for Lothian Buses. Edinburgh residents will be aware that ongoing tram works may result in changes to routes and pick-up points. We would recommend that you telephone Lothian Buses on 0131 555 6363 in advance to check route details of the dedicated service to the Show. Remember to leave plenty of time for travel – The Greatest Show on Earth does result in some congestion during peak travel times.
The Showground has the plenty of car parking spaces with helpful parking attendants to direct you to the nearest space.
There are a number of car parking spaces available at both the East and West gates. Again staff will be happy to direct you. Car Parking costs £8.00 per vehicle per day.
The Royal Highland Show is open the following hours. To be the first to experience the excitement as the Show wakes up to another day, we would recommend that you purchase your ticket in advance so you can go straight through.
It may surprise you that The Greatest Show on Earth has music, song and dance at every turn. This year they’ve turned up the volume and created bespoke stages so that show goers get to enjoy even more established acts and exciting new talent.
With so much happening over the four days, you’ll be entertained from dawn to dusk. We have arranged our programme so that many activities are on several times a day. That means you can catch them when it suits you.

A playground for little ones – the Greatest Show on Earth will build memories for life – a seat on a gigantic tractor, up close to cows, sheep and ponies, yummy food for rumbling tummies and lots of things for little hands to make and do.

From wellies to watches, feather hats to fabulous frocks and a stunning selection of bespoke jewellery, designer knits and country wear, the Greatest Show on Earth has many independent designers showcasing the best in contemporary fashions.
Food and Drink
Food and drink is where Scotland excels and nowhere else will you find the finest selection than at The Greatest Show on Earth. Indulge in Scotland’s larder at The Food Hall and take some home to share with friends and family. With over almost 100 exhibitors at the Show, you’ll find so much to tempt you and with samples aplenty, you’ll find yourself returning for more!
Let’s not forget that the Greatest Show on Earth is also the UK’s best agricultural show where real business happens. Each year thousands of pounds worth of business takes place at the Show whether in machinery, livestock or services, the Show contributes millions of pounds to the Scottish economy each year.
